Museology: theoretical currents and scientific consolidation

Abstract

In this article is discussed the composition of the scientific field of Museology. At first, are presented some historical elements that shaped a particular model of knowledge of the field. The following, are presented several theories and authors, grouped in four areas, that indicate to overcome elements of the first model. Finally, are presented some contemporary perspectives that seek to add the different contributions, referring to scientific consolidation of Museology.
