Tecendo relações entre as reflexões de Paulo Freire e a mesa-redonda de Santiago do Chile, 1972
Abstract
The commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Roundtable in Santiago, Chile in 2012, drives us to the context in which was defined and organizated this summit meeting . This way, the present on going porposes dive into some inspiring ideas for this event retaking questions regarding to the idealism that took place in Santiago’s roundtable . What circumstances came from the idealism that moment? Which led to and facilitated the dawn of one? So far, much has been written about that revolutionary character and contributions about statement’Santiago for museology. However it’s necessary discussion about the context of production of documents. This paper will discuss the relations between the proposed renewal that shook the world of museums in the late 1960s, the place that hosted the event and the realization of the Roundtable’Santiago, as well as presentification from ideas of Brazilian educator Paulo Freire in the drafting of the Declaration Santiago in 1972. Paulo Freire political exile attended the government of President Frei, implanted his method of literacy in 1965. Coexisted and influenced Hugues de Varine, President of ICOM at the time of organizing and holding that event, Paulo Freire was invited by him to chairing that event. Although no such intention, Paulo Freire’s thought was very importante since 1970s,for the museology.Mainly with regard to the concept of "awareness" of the man’s transformation from man-object- into man-subject. To perform this study, we sought to weave relations between the context in which the meeting took place, some principles proposed in the declaration and Freire's thought. In addition, some works of Paulo Freire and the declaration, also searched sources in other contexts including statements from Hugues de Varine and studies performed by other experts of the theme Keywords: Roundtable in Santiago, Chile (1972), Paulo Freire, proposed renovation of museums in the universe.Downloads
