Education and Heritage: Analysis of educational provision of museums to the formation of citizenship in the Stage 0-6, Spain

Abstract

Using a sample obtained from the Observatorio de Educación Patrimonial en España-OEPE database, we want to know what kind of Heritage Education is offered, primarily in relation to Education for citizen participation. For that, we have used The scale of complexity degrees for the classification of Heritage Education experiences that promote Citizen Participation. After analysis, we can say that Heritage Education brings to the Pre-school education the opportunity to get into citizenship questions, mainly through narrations and specially from the knowledge of the environment, approaching to the reality of the curriculum at this stage and the students in it.
