Was possible the industrialization in Castile and Lion region in 19th century? The Museum of Trade and Industry of Salamanca (Spain)

This article is divided into two different but complementary parts. The first part is dedicated to show the historical origins of the Museum of Trade and Industry of Salamanca in the commercial Museums of Decorative Arts from the 19th century, associated with academic institutions, or not, as the Schools of Arts and Crafts. The second part of the article focuses on the own Museum of Trade and Industry of Salamanca, its foundation, its building, its management, its permanent collection and museographic criteria followed in its exhibicition, to conclude that, responding to the tradition of european commercial Museums as well as respect the memory of the missing craft works, the Museum has, as a priority, promote local trade and industrial development and the knowledge of the economic historiy of the city.Downloads
