Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the railway heritage in the state of São Paulo, due to the developments of the Federal Law No. 11.483 / 2007, obligatory the preservation of these collections. To this end, researched the history of the railroad and, more specifically, the Mogiana Station, its history, restoration and reuse. The main reason is the importance of preserving the memory of railroad heritage as well as the use of these buildings and their surroundings, through the re-appropriation by the communities. The methodology used in this research is divided into two stages, first with a survey and literature review of the heritage concepts and railroad heritage, followed by field research with public governments responsible for Mogi Mirim, aiming to raise subsidies for the current destination discussion given to heritage.
