Abstract: This work tackles the relationship between space and visual communication established by the museographic projects in order to detect how they interfere in the public’s perception of the collection. Through analyzing the interrelationship between objective values, such as shapes, colors, lighting projects, sound effects and digital me-dia, and subjective values that are part of each individual's mental and sensitive framework, the paper focuses on the interference factors between object and subject. The path of configuring these exhibition spaces, which unite the material to the symbolic throughout history, allows us to follow how they have adapted to new ways of per-ceiving collections, in their migration from private places, to the publics and digital world. The study of the influences of space and its gathered scenographic elements on the interpretive process of the observer results from the recurring demands for the moder-nization of exhibitions. These have become increasingly fast and inexorable, qualifying them as aesthetic-artistic events. Even though common sense considers that themes and objects intrinsically carry their meanings, we know that the individual's perception - even influenced by their own and circumstantial experiences and memories - is greatly affected by the ambience in which it is immersed. The exhibition spaces, as well as the different elements that work in them, can in fact direct narrative communication in a synergistic way, supporting collections and influencing perceptions. However, is it pos-sible to identify and manage the reach of these influences, underlying the multisensory stimuli that permeate the spaces of contemporary exhibitions? It is a complex and con-temporary issue in museology whether one is able to verify if these elements external to the collection, thought the museographic projects, can really help the understanding of the subject and the interpretation of the objects exhibited.
