Abstract

The creation of a research scholarship known as Os Quimonos de Maria Augusta Rui Barbosa: pesquisa, conservação e acesso ao público allowed a wide range of studies related to the theme, among them, the investigations related to fashion of the period and in what way this influenced the likes of Maria Augusta Rui Barbosa, culminating in the kimonos studied here. This experience report will highlight these issues through newspaper and periodicals of the period, as well as the museological analysis from the cataloging sheets of the pieces, and other related sources.
