The city as a place of memory: mediations for the symbolic appropriation and cultural protagonism

Abstract

In recent years, the term "cultural mediation" has achieved great success in Information Science. However, there is a growing discussion about how to define this expression conceptually, where it may occur, who may be a mediator, and in general, how to make a cultural mediation. Therefore, from a review of the main currents in this thread, it is set up some relationships with the field of knowledge known as Oral History to think ways and conditions to do this action, in view of the cultural protagonism.
