Abstract

This article proposes an interpretative analysis of publications in social networks of visitors of the National Museum, who have used in their posts the hashtag #MuseuNacionalVive, after the fire that destroyed the building and much of the collection of this cultural equipment located in Rio de Janeiro. These manifestations can be considered as archeology of affective memory, since they report positive experiences of the past. Using the collective memory concept of Halbwachs and McCracken's perspective, for whom the user attributes new meanings to exhibitions, exhibitions and museum objects, the aim here is to discuss the museum as a space of memories production, in addition to its museological function, especially by the individual memories it evokes.
