Abstract

This article analyzes the Journal of the Museum and Public Archive of Rio Grande do Sul published by the Júlio de Castilhos Museum and the Public Archive of Rio Grande do Sul, between 1927 and 1930. Explains about contents, articles and documents published in this journal. Focuses on work of Eduardo Duarte on the tasks of gathering, transcription and publication of sources of History of Rio Grande do Sul in this journal. A symbiosis between the both institutions enableded the maintenance of the Journal of the Museum and Public Archive of Rio Grande do Sul by a few years.
