The importance of the registration of sporting collections policies: an experience

Abstract

This text aims to report the experience of preparing a collection policy document for a memory center located in a public university, as well as its first implementation actions. Including the period from mid 2012 to May 2019. It describes the stages of construction of the document until its publication, with emphasis on the processes of acquisition and disposal, handling, organization, preservation/conservation and dissemination of this collection. The policy record was motivated to guide choices, provide transparency and support to decision-making processes in a place of memory that focuses on sporting collections.
