The purpose of this text is to present the process of constitution of the Paralympic Sport Observatory of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. The Paralympic Sport Observatory was constituted as a virtual platform on the memories and histories of Brazilian Paralympic Sport. Over the years and the development of new actions, in addition to producing and disseminating content (audiovisual and written), it also began to establish interaction, in person and virtual, with the universe of sport for people with disabilities in an expanded way, encompassing their family members and professionals, especially in the area of Physical Education, as well as entities. Therefore, in this text we seek to describe the educational, social and cultural actions carried out until then. To produce the text, official documents from the Observatory were accessed, such as the initial project, action plans and annual reports. In the process of presenting the Observatory's itineraries, we report actions that announce its approach to the three functions expected from museums: a) Preserve; b) Research; c) Communicate.Downloads
