Resumen

In Colombia, the environmental authorities and the cultural sector lack a theoretical model or administrative instrument that addresses the environmental implications associated with the development of artistic and cultural projects or activities in the coastal zone. In this regard, this text will highlight the existing legal and technical void, and will apply the case study methodology to make a contribution to environmental management based on the experience related to the "Jardin de Medusas", a project of the Museum de Arte y Medio Ambiente MuMar, Cartagena de Indias, which is presented as five wooden and concrete sculptures submerged in a low-sea area on the island of Barú, designed to function as artificial reefs.
