The organization of the art museum: a study from the aesthetic principles of Hegel
Abstract
Throughout history, the museum has changed, beginning with a limited public and private collections, came to share the culture in public and, even after establishing itself as an institution open to the public, continued to change. Thus, it appears that the idea of art museum - a museum typology studied specifically in this research - is modified according to the social, economic and political environment that surrounds it, because the way it shapes the thinking of a time influence the forms of organization, classification and legitimation of what should or should not be exposed in the museum. At certain times, it is determined as art work and other times the same work is disqualified to assume such a role. Thus, each artistic period had an "end" of its art to a new arise. In this sense, this work attempts to analyze the implications of several conceptualizations of art in different times and their recurrent determination about the organization museum, especially of the Hegelian system of art in relation to the Old Museum in Berlin.Downloads
