Abstract

The archeological heritage, as well as the museums, in the contemporary context are embedded in many discussions about their historical and social conditions and their capacity for cultural and patrimonial mediation. The cultural heritage, in its broadest sense consist all the testimony of man and his environment. This article brings some considerations on the potentiality of archaeological sites are musealized, since museums are understood as standing institution that serve the society and its development, which collect, conserve, research, communicate and exhibit, for the study, the education and the entertainment, and evidence the material of the man and his environment, which reflect different heritages within the historical framework designed by Museology. This study analyzes certain archaeological sites, the type of shell mounds, located in the Boguaçu State Park, in the APA of Guaratuba. The archaeological sites may be included in the category of museums open to visitors and used as places of research and dissemination of the need for protection of these heritage spaces. The methodological procedures of this study were the bibliographic, documentary and case study.
