A Festa do Divino Espírito Santo: patrimônio cultural, políticas públicas e sua interface com a Museologia

Abstract

This work analyzes the Feast of The Divine Holy Spirit, which takes place in São Bartolomeu (Ouro Preto - MG), as well as the processes by which the socio-historical heritage of the Feast in honor of the Divine is preserved, represented and modified through daily experiences. We assume that The Feast – a kind of urban exhibition both religious and profane – in its wholeness and performance, and in its specificity e recognize the characteristics of a total social fact, has potential museum traces. Based on these elements, we propose to analyze the Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit, that is inventoried and Registered as Intangible Heritage of the municipality of Ouro Preto. Minas Gerais, as an imagined museum. In order to reach our goals, we will use some analogies to the method of the museum documentation and to the safeguard measures of the intangible heritage as proposed by the State Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (IEPHA-MG) and implemented the Ouro Preto City Hall.
